We once again hosted church teams made up of families and individuals that use their vacation time to come and serve with us. Every year we look forward to this time as the campus hums with energy, laughter, and the steady rhythm of people serving together.
This year, over 100 participants came and helped our Facilities Department in ways we simply couldn’t accomplish on our own. The teams tackled a wide range of projects—from painting and staining to deep-cleaning, roofing, playground maintenance, landscaping, repairs, and renovating key areas around the campus. What would take our small team years to complete was tackled in just a few weeks. Their service lifted the weight of ongoing maintenance, freeing our staff to focus on ministry, and the everyday rhythms of discipling students and supporting missionaries.
Lasting Impact
A 12-year-old boy gave his life to Jesus during the week and was baptized in Flathead Lake. When I asked him what he thought of the week, he said, “Every day felt like a week, and it went by so fast.” His highlight, of course, was getting baptized, though helping make dessert for snack time was a close second.
Another girl turned 14 while serving with us. Months before, her mom gave her a choice: go somewhere “fun” for her birthday or join the VWAP team. Her answer was immediate—she wanted to come to Montana and serve. It is so encouraging to see young people choosing hard work and service with so much joy.
Stories like these remind us why VWAP matters. For 25 years, church teams have been bringing their families, skills, and servant hearts to YWAM Montana. There is nothing on our campus that hasn’t been touched or strengthened by their hands. The spiritual investment they make—into their own kids, our staff, and the missionaries who train here—continues long after the week is over.
Thank You…
…for praying, giving, and standing with me. You truly are part of every project completed, and every life touched.
