for my next renovation trip aboard YWAM’s Liberty ship in Papua New Guinea (PNG). Three of us will be leaving from Montana on November 28th and joining up with teams from YWAM Ships, from Kona Hawaii, and volunteers from around the world. On our last trip we were unable to start several projects due to plumbing issues that have now been resolved. I will be assisting with project management and remodeling as they are ready for us to return and get to work!

Our assigned projects include: tile work, installing new toilets and plumbing fixtures, painting, cleaning, sewing curtains, cabinet building and installing flooring. Our goal for the 2 weeks is to complete an office space, 8 public bathroom areas and the captain and chief officer’s cabins.

This is one way I am able to love the people of Papua New Guinea, through service and discipleship. Laboring aboard the Liberty now will allow medical care and oral Bible translation to reach people that would otherwise not have access to either. It is an uncomfortable delight to go and love them in this way.

WAYS YOU CAN PRAY

  • 1. Cultural sensitivity and connection for the incoming volunteers and the Papua New Guinean ship crew. With so many cultures in one place, it is easy for misunderstandings to happen.
  • 2. Health and Safety: I personally struggle with physical pain, particularly during travel. Additionally please pray for protection and wisdom for all team members while we work.
  • 3. Supplies and progress: We need to acquire a good deal of materials in order to ready the vessel. We also need to move quickly through the projects without any further delays in order for the ship’s planned departure in the new year.

  • Thank you for your prayers and support
