Respite Recap

Back in April, I welcomed two children into my home for a 10-day respite placement. It was a really sweet time, full of snuggles, the everyday challenges of toilet training, walks to the playground, and dancing in the kitchen.

One of the highlights was how much they engaged with the rhythms of community life here. We joined worship and prayer times with the YWAM community almost daily. We also had many simple conversations about Jesus throughout the day. Each night, they were eager to read the Bible before bed. Those small moments mattered deeply.

Please continue to pray for those children, for their future, and for the family that will one day adopt them. I pray that the truth of Jesus Christ would take root in their hearts and minds, and that the right family would be prepared for them at the right time.

New little ones arrive tomorrow

As is often the case with foster care, things can change quickly. Tomorrow I will welcome two more foster children into my home. They are siblings, a 5-month-old boy and a 2-year-old girl, and they are expected to be with me for a longer season.

As I prepare for their arrival, I would deeply appreciate your prayers. Please pray that they would form healthy attachments and experience peace, stability, and love in my home. These precious children are very small for their ages, so please also pray for their health, especially that their calorie intake would increase and that they would begin to grow and thrive.

Prayers:

I would also appreciate prayer for me as I balance fostering alongside my responsibilities with YWAM. Please pray for wisdom, grace, endurance, and discernment as I care for these little ones while continuing to serve faithfully in the work already before me.
Thank you for partnering with me in caring for the vulnerable.
Sincerely,
Amy
