Leaving On A Jet plane
“If you talk to a man in a language he understands, that goes to his head. If you talk to him in his own language, that goes to his heart.”
-Nelson Mandela
Papua New Guinea
In a couple days I will travel with a small team to Papua New Guinea (PNG) and board YWAM’s Liberty ship. We will spend a couple of weeks helping to renovate and prepare the vessel to transport medical aid and Bible translation teams to otherwise difficult to reach tribes.
Earlier this year, YWAM Montana Lakeside received an invitation to partner with YWAM Ships out of Kona, Hawaii. For the next 3 years we will partner together to do oral Bible translation for 33 of the most difficult languages in PNG. What used to take decades can now be accomplished in a very short amount of time. 33 languages in three years is very possible with God and recent technologies.
Prayer Requests
• Team unity
• That the ship crew and locals would experience the love of God
• Refreshment and encouragement for the long term workers
• For health and safety (especially my back)
I feel privileged to be going to serve the ship’s crew, knowing the impact will affect all who will board the craft over the next few years. I am very excited to be a part of loving the people of PNG by helping them have access to medical care, school supplies, and the Gospel in their mother tongue.
