Better Than Expected

Recovery is going much better than anticipated. I experienced a fall my first night, and as a result I was a little nervous about my post op appointment. Thankfully there were no setbacks. Originally, I was told that I would only be able to bear weight partially on crutches, so I was surprised when just a week after surgery I was told I could start weaning off them completely. So now, I currently only use a cane while I am out of my home. In my excitement, I definitely overdid it, so Friday night was my most painful night. However, I am grateful things are going smoothly.

What rehab looks like

  • 1-3 weeks on crutches
  • 6 weeks no bending past 90 degrees
  • 4 weeks 8hr a day constant passive motion (CPM) machine
  • 5-6months of PT – currently 3 times a week

Well cared for

Friends, my church, and the YWAM community have aided me in many practical ways. From driving me to appointments, delivering meals, cards, overnight care, and assisting with household chores – I have been well cared for. My parents were even able to come for a quick visit.

Thank you for your love, care and prayers.
